Hunter Game Gag
Dave & Cody & Max with Birds

I've been breeding Brittany's for 20+ years, I love this breed as a easy going and easy to travel with and so want to please you, and to train for hunting or any other sport they can go in. 1984 AKC dropped the Spaniel from their name as Spaniel are water retreivers and Brittany's are pointer. So AKC moved the Brittany's to the Pointing Group. Do not get me wrong Brittany's do retreive birds, and are used mainly for upland birds as pheasant, quail, chuckar hunting and not the duck and goose.

I have from past litter puppies all over the states. I have some in Alaska, Texas, New York, Montana, California, Oregon, and Wasinghton State. I do ship puppies, I work with the new owners an make the arrangements, new owners pay for the airfare, health ceritifcate and cate , we pick a day an time the works for the both of us.

All my up coming puppies and dogs are put through OFA testing for their Heart, Hips and Elbows before they are put into my breeding program.

One last thing about my line of dogs. They love the water, so they have their own swimming pools to play in and if they are in the house, do not leave the bathroom door open when filling the bath tub as they will be in it before you are! These guys love the water, and most time the puppies have had a bath or two before they go to their new homes. I keep my puppies clean.

Raising my Litter:

My litters are all raised in the kitchen/ dining area of my home. From the time they are whelped, they have family members around them and get lots of attention. When the grandkids fine out I have puppies they come and spend as much time as they can. They put names on them in days. They are get exposed to all the noises of the home and cleaning of the house. When they are whelped each one is weight and pictures taken and logged into the litter album. When 2-3 days old, their tails and declaws are done and they have their 1st vet check. I weigh each puppy weekly until they leave, to make sure they are getting enough to eat.

Xmas Bird Hunting

When the puppies are 1 week old I take new single pictures of each one for the photo book. Then I take weekly pictures to watch them grow. All new owners that have deposits down on a puppy I e-mail pictures weekly so they can watch them grow. I divide them in the two groups of males and females. At 4 weeks old I start them on soft puppy food. When they are 5 weeks old they receive their 1st deworming and the new owners get to come and pick out theirs. At 7 weeks they get their 1st puppy shot and 2nd deworming and then they are ready to go home in 1-2 days. At this time when they are ready to go I go over the AKC Application, medical records, a booklet I have made that goes over bathing, flea care, traveling, potty training, collar and leash, nail trimming how too and how often, food how much and when to feed, crate training. I also send puppy food with the puppy for a few days, and a puppy toy so he or she can sleep with a lump and they are used to sleeping on lumps and bumps. The most important is the proper way to pick up their puppy and carry and to show kids the proper way not the drop their new one.

I strive to have as healthy puppies as I can, put I tell all new owners Mother nature always has the last word, but I start out with the best. We currently have had no problems associated with any of our puppies. Studies have proved that regular check-ups, vaccination, along with proper care and diet can make all the difference in the quality of your dogs life.
